Located
no more than an hours drive from Vancouver, the Buntzen BChydro
Lake (formerly Lake Beautiful) is the secret jewel of the Lower
Mainland. There are many spectacular hikes for all levels, picnic
sites and an off-leash area for dogs. The Eagle Ridge trail rivals
the North Vancouver's Grouse Grind, minus the crowds! There
is a variety of wildlife such as the great blue heron, bald eagles,
barred owls as well as black bears and cougars. It is a wonderful
lake to canoe on since motor boats are not allowed on this lake,
with the exception of the BC Hydro boat. |
